Your captures stay on this device
Aalixer Screen Select & Share is provided by Aalixer LLC ("Aalixer"). It collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting, and Aalixer receives no data about you or your device from the app.
The app does not even ask Android for internet access, so it cannot upload a capture, a log, or an identifier, not by accident and not by a future change you were not told about. Everything the app makes stays on this phone until you hand it to something else yourself.
The accessibility service, and what it is used for
Taking a screenshot without asking you to approve a screen-share every single time requires an accessibility service, so the app has one, and you switch it on yourself in your device's settings. It is used for two things and nothing else.
The first is taking the screenshot: when you tap the floating handle, the service calls Android's own screenshot function and hands the resulting image straight to the part of the app that shows it to you. The second is getting out of the way: the service is told the package name of whichever app comes to the foreground, and it uses that to notice when a system permission dialog is on screen, because Android will not let you tap "Allow" while a floating window is drawn over it, so the handle hides itself until the dialog is gone.
The service does not read the text, images, fields, or contents of your screen or of any other app, does not record what you type or tap, does not build a history of the apps you use, and does not log or transmit any of it. Nothing at all leaves the device. And it does not defeat any protection your device applies: an app or a screen that Android marks as protected from capture stays protected.
The screenshots you take
A capture is taken only when you tap the handle and drag out a region, never on a schedule, never in the background, and never on its own.
When you save one, the app writes a PNG into your device's Pictures/Screenshots folder through Android's media store, named Aalixer_ and the date and time. It is then an ordinary image in your gallery, and it belongs to you: any app you have given photo access can read it, any backup or sync service you use will treat it like your other photos, and deleting Aalixer Screen Select & Share does not delete it. If you would rather it were not there, delete it in your gallery.
If you discard a capture instead, nothing is written anywhere and the image is gone when the overlay closes. The app keeps no history, no thumbnails, and no index of what you have captured.
Sharing a capture
Tapping Share writes the image to a private temporary file inside the app's own cache and passes Android's share sheet a link to it, so that whichever app you pick can read that one image. Aalixer never sees it. The next share replaces the temporary file, and clearing the app's cache or uninstalling removes it.
Where the image goes after you pick an app is between you and that app: it is then in their hands and under their privacy policy, not this one. Aalixer cannot recall it, and neither can the app.
Settings the app remembers
The app stores, in its own private storage on this device, only: where you have dragged the floating handle, whether you have asked it to start when the phone boots, and which version of the Terms of Service you accepted. Nothing there identifies you, and none of it is backed up off the device: the app opts out of Android's automatic backup, so these settings do not travel to a new phone or into a cloud backup.
The other permissions
"Display over other apps" is what lets the floating handle and the selection overlay be drawn on top of whatever you are looking at. Notification permission is what lets the app keep a foreground notification up while it is running, which is how Android requires a service like this to announce itself. "Run at startup" is used only if you switch on "Start on boot". "Control vibration" is the small tap you feel when you use the handle, and nothing else. None of these read anything about you, and you can withdraw the ones Android lets you withdraw at any time in your device's settings.
Buying the app
The app is sold through Google Play. Google takes the payment and issues the receipt; whether Google or Aalixer is the seller of record depends on where you are, which the Terms of Service explain. Either way Aalixer never sees your name, address, or payment details, and receives only the anonymous sales and location totals Google reports to every developer. What Google collects when you buy something is handled under Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy, not under this one.
Children
Aalixer Screen Select & Share is not directed at children under 13, and Aalixer does not knowingly collect personal information from them, or, as everything above says, from anyone.
Deleting your data
Because the app holds nothing but its own settings and a temporary share file, uninstalling it removes everything it has. Clearing its storage in Android's app settings does the same without uninstalling. Screenshots you chose to save are your files in your gallery, so they stay until you delete them there. There is nothing on Aalixer's side to delete, and so nothing to request, but if you would like that confirmed in writing, ask.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published at aalixer.com/screenshotcapture/privacy-policy.html and inside the app, and the date above is revised. A change that materially affects your rights under the Terms of Service is shown to you in the app and asked to be accepted, which is what the "Changes to the app and to these Terms" clause of the Terms of Service promises.
