Terms of Use
These terms are between you and Aalixer LLC ("Aalixer", "we", "us"). They cover the Aalixer Anonymize Share app. Please read section 6, which explains what the app does not do.
1. Accepting these terms
By downloading, installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not install or use the app.
You agree that these terms may be entered into electronically. Utah's Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (Utah Code Title 46, Chapter 4, including Section 46-4-105) recognises agreements formed by electronic means where the parties have agreed to proceed that way.
Your use of Google Play is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service, which is a separate agreement between you and Google. Nothing here changes that agreement.
2. Your licence
Subject to these terms, Aalixer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you control, for your own use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, and you may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
3. Ownership
The app is licensed, not sold. Aalixer and its licensors retain all rights, title and interest in the app, including all intellectual property rights in it. This licence gives you no rights in the Aalixer name or logo.
Links you clean are yours. Aalixer claims no rights over them and never receives them.
4. Price and payment
The app is a one-time purchase. The current price is the one shown on the Google Play listing at the time you buy, in your local currency and inclusive of any taxes Google is required to add.
Purchases are made through Google Play and are subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Your Google Play receipt identifies the seller of record for your purchase.
The price may change. A change applies only to purchases made after it takes effect. A later increase creates no obligation for you to pay a top-up, and a later decrease or promotion creates no entitlement to a refund of the difference.
5. Refunds
Refunds for purchases made through Google Play are handled by Google under its own policies. Google currently offers a self-service refund within 48 hours of purchase; that window and its terms are set by Google, not by Aalixer, and Google may change them.
After that window, Google directs buyers to the developer. Any refund beyond Google's window is at Aalixer's discretion. Aalixer does not undertake to grant any particular request or to respond within any particular time, and granting one request establishes no practice and entitles no one to the same outcome later.
Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation right you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded or restricted by agreement.
6. What the app does, and what it does not do
The app removes tracking parameters and per-share codes from links, rewrites links to a plain canonical form, and can follow a forwarding code to find the address it points at. It shows you the result before you send it, and names the parameters it removed, so that you can check its work.
You should understand the following before relying on it.
- Removing tracking parameters is not anonymity. The app does not hide your IP address, does not route traffic through any proxy or VPN, and does not conceal you from a website you link to or visit.
- It cannot control what the recipient knows. Anyone you send a link to still knows it came from you.
- Following a forwarding code contacts that platform. That request tells the platform the code was opened, from your IP address. You can switch this off.
- Platforms change their link formats. A link may carry something the app does not recognise, and a link that was handled correctly before may not be handled correctly later. The app cannot guarantee that a cleaned link carries nothing that identifies you.
- A cleaned link may not behave identically. Removing a parameter can change how a page opens, and a link may stop working on a platform that requires a parameter the app removed.
- It is not a security or safety product. It is not designed or tested for situations where being identified would expose you to harm, and it should not be relied on for that purpose.
If being identified would put you at risk, do not rely on this app to protect you. Use tools built and audited for that purpose, and seek advice suited to your situation.
7. How you may use it
You may not use the app to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to interfere with or place an unreasonable load on any third-party service, or to circumvent a technical restriction on a service you are not entitled to access. You are responsible for the links you clean and for what you do with them.
8. Third-party services
The app resolves links belonging to third-party platforms and its output points at websites Aalixer does not operate. Those platforms and websites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Aalixer does not control them, is not responsible for them, and does not endorse their content.
9. Updates and availability
Aalixer may publish updates, change how the app works, or stop publishing or distributing the app, at its discretion. Your purchase pays for the app as it is at the time you buy it. It is not a subscription and it does not entitle you to any future feature, any particular update, or support for any period.
The app has no account, no licence check and no server component. A copy already installed on your device does not depend on anything Aalixer runs, and does not stop working because updates stop being published.
10. Changes to these terms
Aalixer may revise these terms. A revision applies only from the date it takes effect and only to your use of the app after that date. It does not change the terms that applied to a purchase you had already made, and it does not bind you unless you are given notice of it - by an in-app notice, a note on the Google Play listing, or a notice on this page - and you continue to use the app afterwards.
The version of these terms in force when you bought the app governs that purchase.
11. Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. Aalixer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will remove every tracking parameter from every link, or that a cleaned link will work as you expect on any particular platform.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or of implied statutory guarantees. Where that is so, the exclusions above apply only to the extent that law permits, and you keep the rights that law gives you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Aalixer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to the app, however caused and on any theory of liability; and
- Aalixer's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid for the app, or (b) fifty United States dollars (US$50).
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah have jurisdiction over disputes arising out of them.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions of the country where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings there where the law of that country gives you that right.
14. Utah consumer rights are not waived
Nothing in these terms waives, or is intended to waive, any right you are entitled to under the Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act (Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 11). Utah Code Section 13-11-4(2)(q) makes it a deceptive act for a supplier to include a waiver of those rights in the documentation of a consumer transaction, and no provision of these terms should be read as doing so. If any provision would have that effect, it does not apply to that extent.
15. General
- Severability. If a provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it is modified only to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable if the applicable law allows that, and otherwise it is severed. The rest of these terms remain in force. Where a provision cannot lawfully be modified or severed without changing what the parties agreed, the applicable law governs the result.
- No waiver. A failure or delay by Aalixer in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it, and a waiver on one occasion is not a waiver on any other.
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Aalixer about the app, and replace any earlier understanding about it. They do not replace your agreement with Google about Google Play. If these terms and the Privacy Policy conflict on a privacy matter, the Privacy Policy governs.
- Assignment. You may not assign these terms. Aalixer may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Notices. Aalixer may give you notice through the app, the Google Play listing or this website. You may reach Aalixer at the address below.
